Background - Our Approach
Managing execution of strategic initiatives as a “project” is a critical activity for almost all organizations’ success. It’s a key capability that most organizations are struggling to get it and inspite of investments in training and development, most strategy execution initiatives and projects today are still not achieving their business objectives although some do go on to achieve their time and budget objectives.
Based on experience, observations and research by our experts academicians, practitioners and implementers, our experience has been that the traditional approach to managing projects is mostly focused on trying to meet time and budget goals, and is often decoupled from changes in the environment or the business needs.
Project Management Academy along with The Technological Leadership Institute has therefore designed a program, which uses the “Linking Learning to Performance” approach to Project Management. This program is a combination of traditional project management education together with a modern, research based and industry proven Strategic Project Leadership® Framework. The framework address the ways to deal with the reality i.e. most projects today are, uncertain, complex, changing viz. highly impacted by the dynamics in their business environment.
What is Strategic Project Leadership®Strategic Project Leadership® (SPL) is a new, integrated approach to managing strategic projects that combines four important aspects of modern projects: traditional project management knowledge for operational excellence, strategic focus on initiatives business results, dynamic adaptation for dealing with uncertainty and change, and the human elements of project leadership. This approach is helping organizations to deal with their strategic projects in a flexible and adaptive way; and more important, it focuses those projects on creating value, competitive advantage and winning in the marketplace.
This model is building and improving existing project management processes to increase the chances of project success.
